How to Add a Sim to a Household in Sims 4: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Sims 4, a popular life simulation game, allows players to create and control virtual lives. One of the exciting aspects of the game is expanding your household by adding new Sims. 1. Accessing the Household Management:

 

Before you can add a Sim to your household, you need to access the Household Management menu. Here's how:

 

a. Launch The Sims 4 and load the save game where you want to add a Sim.

 

b. In Live Mode, click on the "..." icon located in the upper right corner of the screen.

 

2. Open the Gallery:

3. Find or Create a Sim:

 

You have two options for adding a Sim to your household:

b. Create a Sim: If you prefer to create your own Sim, exit the Gallery and go to Create-a-Sim mode by clicking on an empty household slot. Create your Sim and save it.

 

4. Move In the Sim:

 

Once you have a Sim ready, follow these steps to add them to your household:

 

a. Go back to the Household Management menu by clicking on the "..." icon in Live Mode.

 

b. Select the Sim you want to add from your Library (if you created one) or from the Gallery (if you downloaded one).

 

c. Click on the "Place Household" button. This will place the Sim into your world.

 

5. Merge or Replace Households:

 

When you place the Sim into your world, you will have two options:

 

a. Merge Households: If you want to keep your existing household members and add the new Sim, select the "Merge Households" option. This is suitable for expanding your family.

 

b. Replace Households: If you want to remove your existing household members and replace them with the new Sim, select the "Replace Households" option. Be cautious, as this will remove your previous Sims from the game.

 

6. Finalize and Play:

 

After choosing your preferred option, confirm your decision. The new Sim will be added to your household, and you can now control and interact with them.

 

Managing Your Household: Once the Sim is added, you can manage your household by clicking on their portrait in the lower-left corner of the screen. This will open the household management options, where you can assign beds, control their actions, and more.
